Back Porch

I love having a back porch. I especially enjoy it in the Summer when I can leave the back door opened. The Summer breezes, singing birds, dogs barking and children laughing; the comforting sounds of Summer life, how wonderful!

Georgia O'Keefe

One of my favorite artists is Georgia O'Keefe.  Several years ago my family gave me this steer skull as a birthday gift, oddly enough I always wanted one.  I really didn't know how to display it.  So, I took the idea from one of Georgia Okeefe's paintings; I purchased a large silk rose and placed it in the skulls horn.  Isn't it beautiful?  It hangs up on my dining room wall. Thank you to my husband and son for the beautiful steer skull, and to Georgia O'Keefe for the inspiration.

Lilacs

I love the smell of lilacs.  These flowers are not just pleasing to the nose, but the color soothes the eye.  I have several bushes of these wonderful flowers on my property.  The delicate scent comes through the opened windows during their bloom.  This years bloom were abundant; I did not fuss with these plants this year, I just left them alone and they gave it their best. 

A new adventure

I decided to start a blog to share my life with whomever is interested.  I find that people enjoy telling their stories without reservation or condemnation to a vast unknown, hence the internet.  I am a mother of two young men.  My oldest son is Sergio; he passed away in 2009.  I have another son Nathaniel, who will be graduating from high school this year.  I am married to a very kind man for almost 25 years.  I have been in Colorado for 10+ years.  I will tell you right now that I will not  blog everyday.  I am not a worldly traveler, tho I would like to visit Italy, France and Israel.  I would like to think that someone on the other side of the world is reading my moments.  So, with much excitement and joy I am starting this venture.  And now, all the way from Colorado.  Welcome to my blog and
