Christmas 12/23/10

                      I'M GONNA TELL MY DADDY!!

*********************************************************

One of my favorite ornaments.
  I've had this angel for over 15 years.

These mittens belonged to my son,
 Nathaniel, when he was a toddler.
They were in the closet with
 other gloves and scarves; then
it occurred to me to use the mittens
 as an ornament
 (Aren't they cute?)

This nativity set belonged to my mother in law, Edna.
  It is over 40 years old.  It still has the original hay
 and it plays "Silent Night"

This wreath belonged to my mother, Julia.  I purchased it for her
 Christmas of 1981 from "The Popular";
 it was a very upscale store in El Paso, Texas.
 My mom loved it!  She said it made the house look very fancy.

My Maggie

This tree sits on our front porch.  My husband and son decorated it.
We didn't have enough birds, so my men improvised.
It looks beautiful!!
  Hopefully, next year I will have more birds to cover the tree.

Late Post of Thanksgiving

I know I am posting our Thanksgiving holiday a little late.  I have been keeping busy with school and trying to get my work done for the Fall Semester; school ended on the 10th of December.  I did well in Watercolor, but I have not checked my grade for Pastels.  I will post my art work in the near future.

Anyways . . .

My favorite time of year is Fall because it brings all the wonderful holidays; Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I have to admit tho that my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving.  I really do enjoy preparing the Thanksgiving meal; my family appreciates it too.  We miss our son Sergio, but this holiday was not too sad.  God has sustained us through the last year; and I know He will continue to heal and restore our family.
Thank you Father!!

Pies right before going into the oven

My husband's favorite dessert; Watergate salad
What a beautiful turkey!!!  It was GOOD TOO!!!
I love using the Reynolds Turkey Bags;
the turkey always comes out very moist.

"Please, please, please, come down"

(Poor Paige, she is not allowed to eat any bones, but she sat in front of the stove for over an hour; my son and I put the carcass in a trash bag.  Paige and her sister Maggie did have turkey with their dry food).

I hope for those reading this blog, that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Always count your blessings and give Thanks to the One who provides us with what we need in our lives:

JESUS
